Benefits & Culture


The information below relates to the Mumbai and Hyderabad offices of the India-based subsidiaries of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP.

With this in mind, both Deloitte India and the Indian based subsidiaries of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP take a consistent approach in providing a supportive culture and benefits to help our people achieve their aspirations.

Holidays
Deloitte provides fifteen National/Festival holidays each year to its people. The India based subsidiaries of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP observe sixteen National/Festival holidays per year.

Leave
We appreciate that our people need time off for personal recreation, sick leave, and personal leave. For this purpose Deloitte India provides twenty working days per completed year of service, while Deloitte & Touche USA provide thirty working days of leave. The entitlement to leave and leave encashment will be governed by the respective organization's policy and practice.

On completing five years of continuous service with Deloitte employees are eligible to receive a gratuity. This amount, equivalent to half month's basic pay for every completed year of service, will be paid to the individual upon their separation, be it by resignation, termination or retirement, except where they have been found to have caused damage to the respective organization through willful negligence, omission, destruction of company property, misconduct (leaving the services of the company without proper notice).

Accident Insurance
Every employee and their family have substantial financial protection in case of an accident involving the employee. The scheme provides our employees with twenty four hour insurance cover across the globe. The premium for this benefit is completely borne by the organization. The plan provides for compensation depending on the severity of the injury and incapacitation.

The Firm also provides for Medical Insurance (Hospitalization Benefits) under a policy similar to the Mediclaim Policy covering the employee and their dependents. Deloitte India covers 3 dependents (spouse or children) while the India based subsidiaries of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP cover 5 dependents (parents, spouse or children). The premium for providing medical insurance coverage for the employee and their dependents will be entirely borne by the respective Deloitte organization. The employee has a floater coverage and the cashless facility of admission & discharge at selected network hospitals across the country is available through our TPA (Third Party Administrator).

Initial Accomodation for Outstation Candidates
The India based subsidiaries of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP provides one week of guest house accommodation on a twin-sharing basis for outstation candidates upon joining.

Referral
We offer our clients talent - the talent of our people. Our continuing success requires a constant inflow of professionals with quality and integrity, innovative ideas, and the technical knowledge to add value to our clients.

Moreover, we know that the overall quality of referred recruits is superior to that of other sources such as advertising, employment agencies, or executive search firms. After all, no-one knows better than our own talented professionals the kind of people who can help us achieve our vision.

Because we are serious about our search for top talent, both Deloitte organizations in India have developed referral programs that encourage and rewards their people for referring high quality candidates.

Provident & Pension Fund
All full-time employees on the rolls of the respective Deloitte organizations will be eligible for a social security benefit, called the Provident Fund (PF). Deloitte will remit the statutory contribution of 12 percent of employee's monthly basic pay and a matching contribution will be collected from the employee's salary. Out of the employer's share of contribution, 8.33% will be remitted towards the employee's Pension Fund. The Central Government would also contribute to the employee's Pension Fund at the rate of 1.1/6% of basic pay. Both the funds are maintained and administered with the Central Government body - Employee's Provident Fund Organization, India. Interest is accrued on a yearly basis on the total provident fund contribution in the employee's PF account.

Employee Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI)
All employees covered under the PF scheme will by default be covered under this benefit. The premium towards EDLI will be borne completely by the company. The Sum Assured on the life of the employee as per the statutory requirement will be payable to his/her nominees upon death of the member while in service.

Company Organized Transportation
Employees of the India based subsidiaries of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP in Mumbai & Hyderabad offices are provided with company transportation from major pickup points across the city to our offices. Employees working odd hour shifts are provided with transportation facilities from a pickup point closer to their residence. The cost for this facility is completely borne by the company.

Compensation Package
Both Deloitte organizations pay market competitive salaries to all our people. Compensation & benefits will be reviewed and revised once a year and any adjustments will be based on a thorough review not only of market conditions, but also of individual performance and contribution to the success of the respective Deloitte organizations.
