myVACexperience
The Deloitte myVACexperience is presented twice a year during the major university vacations - once in June/July and again in November/December.
Students can take part in and experience what our myVACexperience has to offer through the following:
myVAC
myVAC is a 3 day program designed for all Grade 12, 1st and 2nd year CA stream students with the main objective of giving students a “taste” of the Deloitte firm, its vibe & its culture. Over the course of the 3 days, students have the opportunity to meet and network with fellow students as well as current trainees, managers and partners.
Throughout the week, students will be facilitated by current trainees (ranging from 1st to 3rd year) who will introduce them to the basic concepts of auditing, lots of info on Deloitte as well as give them background as to their personal experiences first hand!
Ultimately, myVAC is an experience that students will never forget & often becomes the start of a long and meaningful relationship with Deloitte & its people!
myVACschool
myVACshool is essentially an incubator for students with unlocked greatness & thrives on top talent! It is primarily aimed at 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students with an auditing theory background from varsity. Throughout the course of the 5 day program, students will be updated by current trainees (ranging from 1st to 3rd year) on the latest auditing & accounting developments in the industry through practical examples and structured course material. Each student is also provided with a laptop for use during the week, which allows them to learn & experience a simulated auditing environment first hand!
Although myVACshool covers more technical aspects than myVAC, there is also a huge focus on giving the students a feel for Deloitte & our culture. Throughout the week we encourage fun & interactive activities through which students can network & meet the future faces of Deloitte!
(Attendance of myVACschool is a pre-requisite to performing myVACwork)
myVACwork
myVACwork is primarily aimed at giving students that have completed the myVACschool training the opportunity to be part of a Deloitte audit engagement team. The students will assist their respective audit teams with the completion of fieldwork out at the client premises and as such, will have an opportunity to meet, work with and learn first-hand from current trainees, managers and partners!
The duration of myVACwork ranges from 1 to 4 weeks depending on the needs of the audit team and the client. In order to attend myVACwork, students must have completed the myVACschool training.
